Prerequisiti: none
Conoscenze e abilita' da acquisire: Basic knowledge of the anthropological perspective on cultural diversity (race, class, gender, LBQTQ), also in relation to psychology; basic knowledge of approaches to the study of cultural diversity; and analysis of intercultural processes
Modalita' di esame: The exam method is written with open questions. For attending students additional course points/credits can be earned for course participation and related course assignments.
Criteri di valutazione: Understanding the knowledge and application of the course material. For attending students they are expected to regularly engage actively in the learning process of the course (e.g., participating in class discussions, completing course readings and assignments). Non-attending students are expected to complete all readings of the course and successfully complete an oral/written exam.
Contenuti: The course will introduce key concepts of culture anthropology and diversity, providing the tools to critically analyze the different approaches to the study cultural differences. Particular attention will be devoted to current issues, positionality (race, class, gender, sexual orientation) and the processes of globalization, migration and intercultural relations.

Attivita' di apprendimento previste e metodologie di insegnamento: The course will include short lectures, accompanied by small and large group discussions actively managed by students promoting a critically reflective approach to learning. In-class room technology will be used along with course discussions online between class meetings.
