Gli studenti possono sostenere un esame SOLO se iscritti all'appello in Uniweb.

E' responsabilità di ciascuno studente controllare le date degli appelli ed iscriversi alle liste in Uniweb, dopo aver verificato che l'insegnamento sia effettivamente incluso nel piano di studi.

La Docente NON è tenuta ad iscrivere uno studente all'appello, ma si riserva di farlo in casi eccezionali.



***Best practices for getting in touch with your professor (e.g. me)***

0) When getting in touch with your professor, write your queries in English! This is a good way to improve your writing skills.

1) Before sending an email, make sure that the information you are looking for is not to be found somewhere else (check other sources, e.g. the Syllabus, Moodle).

2) Instead of sending an email, post your questions in Moodle: some of your peers might want to ask the same question too! By posting your questions in Moodle, information will be shared with the class.

3) When sending an email, use your Unipd account: this is to avoid the spam filter, and also to avoid your professor skipping over your email, in case it has been sent from an unknown account.

4) When writing an email, use a meaningful and clear subject line including your course and degree program details: this is very important, as your professor probably teaches multiple classes. By using a well-titled subject line, your professor will know immediately what to look up in order to answer your query.

5) Always use a greeting form (e.g. Dear Professor + last name / Dear Dr + last name) and your signature (Kind regards / Best regards / Best wishes / Sincerely + your first and last name).

6) Briefly state the reason why you are writing, by offering relevant information, and send attachments and screenshots if necessary (e.g. in case your query is about an assignment or article, or if you have problems using Moodle, etc.).

7) Try to be as concise as possible, but don't forget to add a touch of politeness to your message!

8) Before sending your email, read it over and run spell check! If necessary, ask someone else to proofread it.

9) After you send your email, leave enough time for a reply: your professor might need a few days to find the piece of information you are looking for, or s/he might not access his/her email account every day.

10) Once you receive a reply from your professor, acknowledge it by just writing “Thank you” (your well-titled subject line will make the context clear), or expand a bit more if necessary. However, if you think your problem has not been solved, ask for an appointment during your professor’s office hours.

January 2011 – March 2015: Doctoral School in Human Sciences (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia). Research project on international corporate communication via global websites in English. Dissertation title: Companies' Global Websites. The Interplay of Language, Genre and Medium in Web-Mediated Intercultural Business Communication. Supervisor: Prof. Franca Poppi, Co-supervisor: Prof. Giuliana Diani. The dissertation was awarded an honourable mention in the context of the AIA-Carocci PhD Dissertation Prize 2016.

Work experience
April 2018 onwards: University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. I give lectures and exams in English language in the first cycle degree in Education Sciences.

February 2018 onwards: University of Parma. I give lectures and exams in Business English in the first cycle degree in Economics and Management.

October 2015 onwards: University of Padova. I give lectures and exams in English language in a number of first and second cycle degrees (see my attached CV for more information).

September 2014 – December 2014: Department of Linguistic and Cultural Studies – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. I provided a 60-hour course of English, target B1, to train Italian secondary school teachers who intend to teach their curriculum subjects wholly or partly in English in the methodology of CLIL. Project manager: Prof. Marina Bondi.

February 2014 - November 2016: Department of Communication Studies – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. I gave supplementary lessons (in-class and D-Learning sessions), prepared teaching resources and ran written exam for the English courses in Bachelor and Master programs in Communication Studies.

March 2012 onwards: Department of Linguistic and Cultural Studies – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. I gave supplementary lessons and exams in “Intercultural Communication in English” to 1st year students in the MA program in Languages for International Business Communication. I am currently supporting MA students doing bibliographic research, and I help them write their thesis.

February 2011 – February 2012: Department of Foreign Languages, University of Parma. I translated the website of the Cemetery “La Villetta” (Parma) from Italian into English, compiled a glossary of specialised terms in English and German as part of a project managed by the University of Parma and the Parma Local Council. Project manager: Prof. Gillian Mansfield.
